Whilst I do have confidence in those engines generally, things can get iffy in that 150-200k range. Even still, there are quite a few Subaru specialists that can work on your vehicle when/if that time comes. I’d go for it still. $225k for a vehicle with one of the worlds best awd systems is something hard to pass up on. I think the Suzuki Vitara 1.6 Allgrip is in that price range too.
Drchaos, premium since day 1.

I understand that Subaru has had issues with head-gasket failure based on my research when they reach higher in mileage. While I like the vehicle and the ground clearance, if it was my money Honda or Toyota would get it. If you wait a little longer, the HRV was release in Europe(https://www.motor1.com/news/282068/2019 ... -revealed/) with the 1.5T so it may reach our shores before you know it.

If a 210k (see it went up by $7k?....told you guys SS will price it like a 2.0 soon to make more money on alluh head) Sportage GDI 1.6 was the best I could do in terms of brand new vehicles then I’ll buy a roro March instead so I could figure it out from there than to settle for that nonsense.
Putting my bias aside, the Vezel wins because of features, fuel economy, performance, handling and looks. The Creta wins for simplicity especially with its non GDI engine. The Sportage wins on price for the size since it may be by a small margin, the biggest of the 3.
Don’t be confused with the word big associated with a Sportage as it’s still small in relation to the sea of crossover competitors out there. In terms of after sale support, the Vezel you are blessed to have none. The Sportage even though sold by an authorized dealer for Kia comes as though you purchased it from a grey market/roro dealer because SS and support don’t go together. Creta May get some support from Massy, nothing special but it better than nothing.
The Creta is from India, the Sportage from South Korea and the Vezel is from Japan. The DCT in the Vezel requires a unique prayer and holy water sprinkling from the Father at Mt. St. Benedict. This is tough. It’s like asking me to choose Aunt Esther, Calypso Rose, or Marlene McDonald. But one has to win so my order with a heavy heart is:
1st Sportage
2nd Creta
3rd Vezel

Crossover - unibody based on a car platform with a fwd biased awd option. The vehicle will have a rear hatch and a higher ground clearance than a car. It should be noted some crossovers are available as fwd only where no awd option is available.
Some examples found locally:
(Small) CHR, Qashqai, Juke, HRV/Vezel, XV, CX3, ASX, Eclipse Cross, Vitara, SX4 S-Cross, Ignis, Creta, i20 Activ, Trax, EcoSport, Niro
(Medium) Harrier, Rav4, CRV, Xtrail, Outlander, Tribute, CX5, Forester, Tucson, Sportage, Equinox, Escape, Kuga, Tiguan
(Large) Pathfinder, Murano, CX-9, Outback, Santa Fe, Sorento, Touareg
SUV - body-on-frame/ladder frame chassis like those derived from a pickup with a permanent or part time 4wd system that is rear wheel biased.
Some examples found locally:
(Small) - Jimny, Rocky, Terios, Rush*
(Medium) - Rodeo, Grand Vitara
(Large) - LX570, Land Cruiser 70 series, Land Cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser, FJ Cruiser, Patrol, Pajero, XL-7, Terracan, Trooper, MU-X, Trailblazer, Everest
*The Rush is probably the first 2wd body on frame SUV I can think about. It’s a bit of an anomaly but because it’s rwd with a ladder frame chassis, I won’t call it a crossover.

I called and they said they had a 2.5L hybrid available for something ridiculous over $600K.
