Smaller engine cheaper price?
To me it could of been cheaper because of that engine but oh well it isnt bad I guess

If they can't blame the engine size and tax for ze high price they will probably say some equine sheit like " it hard to get forex, hence the price is such".

Its also very interesting that the Civic starts at 20.5k in the US and the Accord starts at 23.8 K so a 3.3K USD difference.

Same engine size ... but here in T&T its a 17.64K USD difference?

You all are forgetting to take into account economies of scale when it comes to comparing the prices of LHD and RHD models of the same car. The LHD cars are produced in greater quantities than RHD cars.

Maybe 20 years ago ... These days RHD and LHD produced in the same factories and even on the same assembly lines.

Just more fluff from sales people.

The dealership cartel will continue with their unethical practices whether we rant about it or not. The Honda city was once sold at $150k and then they brought in the supposed CNG version which is just a retrofitted vehicle and suddenly the current price is $179k tax free lol.

Classic always brought in 3 accords: fabric, leather and leather V6 for 315k, 379k and 550-600k thereabouts for the last generation.

If they were interested in passing the tax savings to the customer, a fully equipped 1.5T should not cost more than 320k but they looking at previous models in terms of equipment and power. That said, the 1.5T is far superior to the 2.0 R20 engine and even the K24 which we never got for an Accord. So this new turbo motor is probably on par if not a better performer than the 3.0 sohc 24v vtec v6 found in the 03-07 model so they will probably try that sales pitch angle to justify the price.

A Kia Optima can be purchased now for as little as 325k and that’s a 2.0. Of course how dare I compare Korean junk to Jap engineering right? Well the Mazda 6 2.0 can be had for less than 340k with leather and Bose and we all know, that 6 is truly a drivers car.

Since Classic pushes Honda locally as a near premium brand, expect them to sell well within the ANSA group and the 1 and 2 % circle. For 20k less, might as well buy a CRV.

Have Honda sorted out the oil dilution problem in the 1.5 turbo engine?

A base Civic costs less than a base Mazda 3 according to Edmunds so I dont get what the local dealers are on about.

Honda's styling right now is way off Mazda has the interiors down pat and the looks exteriors spot on imho which again looks are subjective.

The state of vehicle pricing here really makes me feel to vomit.
On a slightly related note, anyone knows if there have been any price changes with BMW since the shift in dealership owner?

They claim they did a software fix, but who knows if it solves the problem. Engine is too efficient at cooling so warms up slowly so people who do short trips may see issues faster.
Oil dilution problems will show up after 5 years plus

Way after warranty is up so they can blame you for ruffing up the car.

I can confirm that the Ertiga is in fact still being registered as a full 7 seater on the certified copy.
StefanH2 wrote:Would definitely check that out when I take delivery of the vehicle next week.
agent007 wrote:Oh boy, then if that is the case, it is incumbent upon the dealership to inform the customer prior to registering a vehicle that the CCO will indicate “5 passengers” instead of “7”. No one will ever want an instance where the Police or Licensing Officers stop you to give you a ticket if you have your family/friends etc occupying the third row seat.

Stefan, would you do us a favor and check your CCO to determine if this is true?

Things looking up for our new BMW overlords in sweet T&T.

Their prices seem more reasonable, X1 starting at 320k!

also BMW will have a Hybrid x1 with a 1.5l 3 cylinder turbo with a 34 mile electric range. NO TAX!
Things gonna get really interesting if they can roll that out down here.

Eat your heart out COLM!
