You can order it with a 2 tone finish if you like. Most of them with the panoramic sunroof comes with a 2 tone finish. The most popular is the GLX 2WD version. Lifestyle Motors is located on Cipero Street, however, access to their service dep't is via Knox Street (to the back of the building).

Go for it, the eyesight safety kit alone is worth it over its power disadvantage.

Was nothing major. SS had agreed to fix minor paint defects and scratches found on delivery and gave me cash back before I even saw the scratches. Car was bought unseen as stock was limited. Mazda 2 hatch purchased for mother. I have a decent relationship with SS although they are far from the best

Sigh of relief. I thought it was something electrical or mechanical. Great choice though, I heard those M2’s are pretty peppy and agile.

What I like about the Vitara is that it uses an NA engine with port injection and is paired with an Aisin 6AT torque converter transmission. No direct injection or dual clutch here. It also comes with a spare tyre in the boot.

Downside is, they’re from Hungary and not Japan so I can’t talk about long term reliability and build quality.

I would much rather a Vitara over the Creta, Venue, Seltos and Sonet. No disrespect to the sales persons who provide me with info or to owners perusing this thread.

A surprising deal is the Chevy Trax LT 1.4T with leather and sunroof. Recently those units with the 18” rims sold for as low as $200k and like the Vitara, it uses a 6AT transmission and a port injected engine. Probably built in South Korea. Good thing is, never before in T&T we had so many options to choose from. Good luck!

Agent007, did you get a call on your '17 CRV for fuel pump replacement? I do not know if it applies to all years but for my 2018 there is a recall on it. I got an appointment for May for the replacement.

The All-Grip has front and rear parking sensors. And I believe the GLX models now have a rear reverse camera.

I need advice on a low budget and reliable crossover like suv with parking sensors and cam. Not sure they can apply it as an optional accessory...not like a trim.

IMO, the Mazda 3, but I feel like the pictures don't do it justice.
Not local but gosh once it's hit with a nice coat and polish it smashes the competition

No like for the Vitara?? It really is a nice vehicle with front and rear sensors in mid tier, no reverse cam tho. That could be solved with a simple 1500$ head unit.

I decided to go with the Subaru XV 1.6 Eyesight. Test drove the car and honestly it was fine. No, it's not a race car. I mostly stick to the speed limit on the highway and I'm happy to do so. The safety features sold it for me.

Maybe something from Hyundai/Kia? If not you're looking at a Vitara GLX+ and Eclipse Cross GLS. They both come with front end rear sensors with the obligatory rear cam.

The only foreseeable issue is steering column. While few and far between, it has affected RAV4. The sign is a kinda of squishy sound while turning the steering accompanied by a slight looseness of steering. The cause, as I understand, is due to a seal in the steering column. My RAV4 was under warranty when this occurred about three years ago and with several calls and elevating to higher management, a new steering column was ordered and replaced. My issue with TTTL was not that they didn't want to cover the replacement rather, noone could of advise with certainty on the status of the replacement.

I understand that the seal could be replaced but TTTL opted to replace the entire column as a "safeguard". Back then, the cost of the column was TT$22,000.

This issue is not rampant though, and the greater majority of vehicles are unaffected. I was just one of the unlucky ones.

Aside from that, you will be good to go with the 2016 model. Injectors may need to be replaced but that is fairly normal with any car. Just service your injectors regularly, do the regular tuneups and the recommended major maintenance at the correct intervals and your vehicle will be in tip top condition.

PS, if you would like a number for an excellent service tech, let me know. You can ask him to scan the car prior to purchase and perhaps do a quick general inspection (at your cost) and thereafter use him for your service. PM me if your are interested.
Redo6 wrote:Agent007 and carluva, thanks guys.
I'm hedging towards the local used Rav4 as well and that car seat info hit the spot dey lol
Question tho, 2016 rav4, would u forsee many maintenance issues in the best future...
As this is another consideration as well.

My dad has a 2015 RAV4, (dealer maintained). Just Monday he had it serviced and they were telling him something about either the steering column or steering rack needed replacing at some astronomical figure around that same $22K you mentioned. Other than that, the material used on the steering wheel (synthetic leather) peels out from the steering wheel and then you just end up with a urethane looking steering wheel. The first time it happened the steering wheel was replaced under warranty. My advice would be to put a steering cover on the steering wheel. I hate steering wheel covers though, too bulky and ugly!
What does the steering rack or steering cloumn noise sound like? I think i have a ticking sound when i turn the steering too much to make a 90 degree turn.
Yes, thats the sound you get.... It happened to my 2014 Rav4 in 2019 but it did not cost 22k to change... I paid 6k (less 20% discount) for the column and 1800 labor at TTTL South to replace

I would also add that that was the only thing I ever had to change or spend unplanned funds in that car till today, besides regular service.
