Compatability between jimny series

Postby JD...... » December 2nd, 2012, 4:22 pm

Looking to acquire a Suzuki Jimny (Kei) JA11 660 turbo. I would like to know what features does the JA11 share with the SJ 410, SJ413 etc.

Also first mod will be a spring over axle swap, can anyone share their experiences regarding this: pros, cons, suggestions...........Steering, leaf springs, shocks.

below is what i found so far.

For the 660cc class:
1984-1990, JA71, 550cc SOHC turbo, (basically a F10A engine with one less cylinder and a turbo), SJ410 axles in early models, later upgraded to SJ413 axles.
1990-1995, JA11, 660cc SOHC turbo, SJ413 axles, last of the leaf spring model.
1995-1998, JA12, 660cc SOHC turbo, Coil springs, facelifted with one piece windshield frame/cowl, chain drive Tcase.
1994-1998, JA22, 660cc DOHC turbo, Coil springs, facelifted with one piece windshield frame/cowl, chain drive Tcase.
1998-Current, JA23, 660cc DOHC turbo, complete model change with redesigned coil spring suspension, body, chain drive Tcase.
2004, Upgraded to a hybrid chain/gear Tcase with 4:1 lowrange. Also got the 5:1 first gear.

For the 1300cc class:
1984-1986, JA51, Same as a SJ413, narrow track, 6 lug(yes, toyota bolt pattern, not a typo).
1993-1995, JB31, G13B with fuel injection. Same width as a Samurai.
1995-1998, JB32, G13B 16V, coil springs, facelifted with one piece windshield frame/cowl, chain drive Tcase.
1998-2000, JB33, G13B 16V, complete model change with redesigned coil spring suspension, body.
2000-current, JB43, M13A DOHC 16V engine.
