C Class Vs 3 Series

Postby crazychinee » May 2nd, 2015, 5:06 pm

If prices were just about the same....and you had to purchase from the firm. Which one?

I've found the C class to feel a bit bigger, and have much better esthetics. The benz maintainence cost in the first few years isn't bad either.

Crazy. my recommendations

1. Mercedes Benz C-class AMG or AMG package. Either Black, white or Blue with Midnight package Wheels

2. 3 Series with M package , Blue, black or white.

The 4 series coupe aint bad also. I know you dont have any need for the rear doors.

I tested both.

C looks better base vs base but the rear of the car is ugly.

3 series with M sport looks better overall. Drives better overall, has a better engine and transmission, feels more nimble whereas the C class feels bloated.

C class interior looks better interior wise, but the the quality of the materials used in the C class interior felt cheap. It also has less cabin space than the 3.

If you want luxury get a 5 series/E class/Lexus is250 or something. If you want sporty with better driving dynamics get the 3. I really don't see the point of the C class other than it's less common on the road so you get some exclusivity I guess for the time being.

3 series for driver experience ... E90 interiors are Spartan butwell put together.

Go for the 5 year maintenance package that's offered.

New C class has a really ugly rear IMO. Current 3 and 4 series has serious aesthetic appeal to me.

Can anybody comment on available engines and the dealer support for both brands locally?

New C180 comes 1.6 turbo 154bhp
New 320 comes 2.0 turbo 180hp, new 328 comes 2.0 twin turbo 240bhp. Both comes with a decent 5 year maintenance package that's worth looking into.

Is 5 yr maintenance only applicable if you take their financing?
