I always liked those little datsuns but after seein numerous posts bout them being too frail to handle an SR i started to wonder what can you do with a 120y Now i have an good budget and a fully stock 120y in my hands with no idea how far i can mod it to and what i can do to it
It all depends on what your plans are. Do you want:
A stock/original car for a restoration. A little weekend warrior. A quarter mile monster. A long term project that when finished you step back, look at it and wonder why.
Are you planning to attend car shows only or do you want to track it as well? Cause having a fast car and you can only go 80km on the highway kinda makes no sense (gotta stretch those legs). Drag Drift Circuit Solodex Dare I say rally?
Figure those out, then you can decide what you wanna do mechanically afterwards.
i have one i might build in a couple years. Ill be going with a sr20de and box, swapping in some sort of LSD unit .Usual brakes upgrade, cradles (c32 looking like a decent lineup) stock gas tank with a lift pump and surge, radiator and thats about it, keeping clutchfan, some Autometer gauges.
purpose? go touring the country on weekends. theres another car besides this i might work on so i highly doubt id ever do something like this but thats what id do. Keep it reliable.
