Electric Kit Car

Postby DevilZ » October 3rd, 2016, 10:22 am

http://www.roadandtrack.com/motorsports/videos/a31017/watch-a-tesla-powered-factory-five-kit-car-run-101-in-the-quarter-mile/

I saw this today and started wondering if we could do that here:
import the electric drive train and basically build watever you wanted to race
or even upgrade an old platform like an electric 120y

anybody can provide some insight into building/licensing/insuring an electric kit car?

pretty cool stuff

A lot more programming than you think doh. Less variables than the average engine for sure, but intense programming nonetheless

It would be really expensive right now since it's not too mainstream. It would be cool for a balls to the wall racing vehicle (with multiple sponsors), but building a reliable daily (with your own money) would be some therapy (and money).

If you serious doh, make friends with some people who do electrical eng in uwi
