just be very careful of what u buying there, tyres bought there have disintegrated after one day of solodex.....i talking about chunks of tyre breaking off completely
u could also check Chippy's in Chaguanas, they located next to Jack's

I recommed Chippy's as well. Been buying there for years 205/45/16 Goodyear Eagle F1 ZR $225 each and they last most of the year solodexing.
I've been to John's in Preysal and they wanted $350 for 205/45/16 and even higher for R tyres.
Went back in a short pants and T-shirt... price dropped to $350 for the R tyres... go figure.

Chippy's didn't have any foreign used 205/13 when I went a month ago... the widest 13s were 195.
I have never found any foreign used 13s wider than 205 and I'm not sure that 50 series even exists anymore (at 13 inches).
You'll probably get 205/65/13 or 215/65/13 brand new.

Chippy's rock!
I have been buying tires from there for years. Ryan used to just let me go upstairs and choose out my own tires lol.

When do they open? I've passed there many times and they're always closed. Wanted to get a pair of tyres for solodex last weekend and ended up buying a pair of new 160tw sumitomos from Tyre Clinic instead.

SUMITOMOS kinda suck for Solodex.
John's suck too, it have some boys working dey does hide all the good tyres for their partners. You could spend whole day looking thru tyres there and doh find nutten good.
Last time I went by chippy's didnt get nutten, Nutten at all

Why do you say they suck for solodex? Personal experience? My personal experience with them has been VERY good. The tyre I am using is not the HTR 200 which is a 320 tw tyre. It's the HTR Z and HTR ZII which are 160 and 220tw respectively. I am yet to use the Z but had used the ZII last year and it held really well.
On tirerack a couple people used the Z for autocross/track and say they hold very well for the price. Only problem with them is the deep treads which give a little less response on heavy cars and suggest having them shaved. I guess we'll see next month.

Nah i didnt try the Z. I used to work at tyre clinic once, long time ago.

Well I've been driving around with them on and they seem to be OK, don't really push too much on the road. Was thinking about tryin them tomorrow but I saving some funds for something next month so will have to wait for the next dex itself to try them out.

what's wrong with the sumitomo htr 200 for dex ?

HTR 200 compound may be a bit too hard.
Generally, the lower the treadwear rating the stickier the tyres and the stickier the tyres, the better they are for solodex.
