Increase in Competitor's entry fee

Postby Reyos » June 7th, 2010, 6:05 pm

Dear dexers,

We wish to inform all Solodex participants and members of CARS of the increase in competitor fees beginning June 13th (BYCC 3).

This price increase is necessary as our rental cost for the Arima Race Club Carpark has been increased by 50% since the start of the year.

For Competition events members will now be required to pay $120 and non members $140.
All BYCC events will cost $120 for both members and non members.

We truly regret any inconvenience caused and we hope to see you at our next event

Best Regards,
Reyos

I think this is more than fair, considering all the costs and effort that go into events.
Thanks for the heads up too

still a bargain as Karting is $200. The facilities are improving and most recently the entire car park was swept so there is no more gravel. Also an electrical connection will be made to T&TEC so generator problems will be a thing of the past.

O.K that may be fine .
I will just have to do over my Budget to accommodate the entrance fee.

By the way would the prizes be increased as the entrance fee is raised.

I might be wrong but I do really appreciate something with a trophy- gal. of oil.

Hey David... I read the forums on a regular basis :)

We still have our very faithful sponsors on board. Some give product and other give cash that we use to supply trophies throughout the year. Due to the economic slow down, it would be difficult for them to give more to supplement the increase in the ARC car park rental.
At present Raymond, Devi and Gen are scheduled to have meetings with a potential sponsor so hopefully that goes well and they come on board....keeping my fingers crossed.

With respect to talking to Anil, CARS has representation on the board of MATT (Motto Sport Association of Trinidad and Tobago). Since Anil has taken over I know that MATT has been in discussions with the minister and his ministry.

maybe the competitors should have the entrance fee deducted from the competitors fee if they are racing.

I think this is a good idea....

As it is right now, competitors who pay membership at the start of the year do not pay the entrance fee at the gate....but i think it's fair if someone is taking part that they don't have to pay to enter the compound.

so competitors & members would pay the same right?
so what's the benefit of being a member? (if it is the association appreciates the memberships)

I thought that to encourage people to become members, part of the condition for membership is that you get free entry to all the events for the year. So basically if someone competes in 3 championship events or just 2 solodex and 1 BYCC they break even with the cost of the membership fee, likewise if they come to spectate at all events they come out good.

This encourages members to come out to events and even take part.

Well I see your points and i understand where you coming from....

The suggestion was the removal of the $20. gate fee for a competitor (member or non member) at all events.
This is how I saw it....A member pays $120. to enter the competition and a non member pays $140.
Over six events, its a difference of $120...so it still is beneficial to be a member...
A spectator can benefit as well since if they come to the 6 events and 4 BYCC they still save $100.
on entry fees. Plus members are in the championship and they can vote at the AGM.

maybe it can be applied to the BYCC only as a way to encourage more ppl to come out....
