They tried to write a new story by mixing up our previous release with this one so its a little confusing, but its publicity nevertheless.

The actual paper has a photo too, so go buy one.

Ramjohn produces fastest time at CARS
Wednesday, July 18 2012

KEVIN Ramjohn and his Mitsubishi Evolution 8 recorded the fastest time of the day at the Creative Auto Recreational Sports (CARS) third Autocrossing competition, which sped off at the Arima Race Club’s car park on July 8.

His golden performance on the circuit propelled him into pole position on EPR National Championship standings. Ramjohn victoriously completed the course and is presently on 299.236pts.

Devindra Nath aka “The Trinidad Stig” (Suzuki Swift Turbo) remains in runner-up position with 199.709pts while Joel Jagessar and his Mitsubishi Evolution 3 is in third spot on 100pts.

Meanwhile, the rookies were given an even tougher challenge on circuit-day as they all attempted to figure out the fastest way to get around it. Trevor Van Sluytman finished with the quickest rookie time of 100.642. Finishing third in the EP category, Sluytman, the dvision was eventually won by Randy Rambhai (392.166pts) driving his Evolution 3 and receiving silver was Adesh Ramdeen (293.501pts) with his Subaru STI.

On the day, there was a large turnout of competitors including newcomers to the sport. Cool conditions in the afternoon were perfect for fast times as drivers began to find the right racing lines. Precision and accuracy combined with controlled aggression was their recipe for success.

On August 5, the club will be having its third driving school and open race day for 2012. Drivers will get an opportunity to learn from more seasoned competitors from various motor racing disciplines including circuit racing and rallying. The school consists of both theory and practical sessions. Drivers will also learn about properly maintaining their vehicles so that their safety will not be compromised on the road.

Interested members of the public are invited to attend and more information can be found on the club’s website, www.carstt.com
