Why do the motorsport community double up events such as drags and solodex? I'm sure there's enough weekends in the year to organize to have them on separate days?!

Actually all the motor sport disciplines try there best to void doubling up of events. But it is unavoidable some times.

There is a motorsport calendar with ARA, CARS, TTDA, TTRC, Karting, TTASA agreeing to dates for the year and with limited clashes. Even with those 6 organisations there are still a couple clashes and practically no weekends free. Far less when other organisations want to hold events. Clashes really are unavoidable.

And these dates are put forward and discussed and adjustments made between Oct. and Nov. of the preceding year. And then there is Drag Racing where dates are only determined at the beginning of the year.
But with just 5 posts, this query can be forgiven....
