TTRC 2012 Rally Championship points so far

Postby rcadiz » October 18th, 2012, 10:39 am

The OVERALL points status is as follows:
- Congratulations to Ryan Peyrau and Simon Rodriguez for guaranteeing themselves 1st place 2WD for 2012 with one event to go. This is well deserved after winning 4 out of the 6 events completed, they have really won this without any strong challenges as many of the 2WD guys have simply not been able to match the pace and consistency. Ryan is also likely to take 5th place overall in the Club which is a fantastic achievement for a 2WD car amongst some healthy 4WD competition.

- Premature congratulations are in order for Cristian Bourne and his team (Rikard and Jesu). They are on 81 points and only a win or 2nd place overall from Rezan along with a DNF from Cristian will result in a change at the top. Although nothing is for sure, Cristian looks likely to win Overall Driver of the Year.

- An interesting fight is likely to take place between John, and James as they try to catch Rezan for 2nd and or 3rd respectively. 1st place is definitely out of reach but depending on the points tally on Oct 28, it’s anybody’s guess as to what the final 2nd, 3rd, 4th will be.

CLASS points:
- A – Rezan is pretty much ahead but could be tied by Latiff if he’s not careful. Betts might be able to grab 2nd spot as well. Coelho could also come back and upset the apple cart if he shows up.

- N – Bourne Bourne Bourne – no surprise here….Craig Sumair one of our Rookie of the year contenders is comfortably in 2nd but can’t catch 1st. 3rd place will be reserved for John as Sobby is doubtful for the last event.

- SM4 – Reyaz Mohammed has tied this one up with one event to go. There’s a bit of a tricky situation with the merging of the 2WD groups all year and although Peyrau is sitting 2nd in SM4, some decisions are still pending on this one. Ansel and Franklyn will benefit depending.

- M2 – This was the least subscribed class and is unlikely to be counted in the end as they have only been constituted for 4 events and not the required 5. In any case its very clear who the winner is and we offer congratulations anyway to Ryan and Simon for winning both 2WD and doing it in an M2 car.
