Went and saw some of the crossfire mini amps. Looks decent. Really small.

I saw massive audio D800.4 amp in a music store, its class AB with a 40A fuse. Is there any truth to it doing rated power of 480rms x 2 bridged? I want to know d true power rating of the amp.

I think that 480 * 2 is peak power.

P=IV........ simple maths 40 by 12.5 = 500 watts and we havent factored in efficiency of a class ab amp lets say 60% gives you 300 watts power

While this is a basic calculation it gives an idea on the power out you would expect to get

^^according to that, my American bass VFL hybrid mono amp also has 40a of fuse, class D & rated to do 900rms @ 1 ohm. Am I really getting this from the amp?

For a nominal fee I can test the output of the amplifier. There are also a couple of other guys on the forum that offer the same services. It will give you the true output of the amplifier.

PM if interested.

3 30 amp fuses at 13.5 1215 watts
At load i think the amp did 980
So its puts the amp at arroubd 80% efficient and the amp is highly underrated

Too bad they dont make amps like they use to in the 80s and 90s
Most put out power nowadays with a square wave

Those were from around the "cheater amp" days. I've got its 4-channel cousin, the 4160. Rated at 20W per channel, it actually did 54W per channel (according to the "birth paper)" and over 320W per channel bridged into 4 ohms. Still got it in my store room awaiting a build.

I looked at d amp today, confused it with another, no fuses came on d amp but d manual recommended 40a fusing I using 100a fuse on the amp though
