Any reviews ..?

Tuning challenges?

Sound Stage characteristics?

Tweeter performance?

the car is not time aligned so imaging is off
tonality of the front stage is pretty awesome
tweeters are detailed, crisp without being too bright and harsh and for the price...cant complain at all
kinda hard to get a seamless blend when i add the sub though....

tuning challenges is the EQ on the deck only have 50hz-12k I am using a pio 2700....so i cannot really boost the extremely lower and higher frequencies as compared before...I wish they made an affordable double din deck like the 80 prs

Getting the sub to blend with the front stage would require you pay attention to sub phase, crossover point and slope and time manipulation..... Usually after the front is dialed in

5's, might not be able to fit those 7's.

I may buy the 7's for home use if the 5's sound good and sell the elates.

hoss
I now finished putting in one...and all i can say is WOW!! you would be happy!!

with a 1 inch baffle the window barely passes the magnet like 1 cm clearance
thank god the upholstery was able to mount back without issues

1 cm is nuff clearance. Looks like your sub wont have much to do!
Is the baffle final or you treating it for moisture?

honestly for someone who wants a decent set i cant see these and a pair of these tweets for general every day listening being beaten (170uds for everything)...obviously not audiophile or probably competition grade

Proper crossing will definitely introduce men to the sq side of things, ditch the eminence and nb1 lifestyle.

Feel i might cop a pair of the 7inchers now for home bookshelf build later this year yes.. you tempted my pocket

so they are installed
have them crossed 50@18db up to 3k and highs from 3k up
midbass awesome, techno type songs, insane
actual midrange not as defined and clear (sounds a bit thin) compared to the dls ultimate they are replacing
but i expected that to be the case

with a decent deck like a 80prs with a good eq i am sure you can get it to sound better
i am contented with them...its a good speaker for a good price
