any installs in a sportage?

Postby altec » February 13th, 2016, 8:40 pm

I want to see an install in a sportage 2011 to 2015. I have some stuff that I am either going to install or sell since the old ball and chain behind me to get rid of them because she needs the space. This is what I have collected over the last year or two. The first pic is a pair of tweeters I bought on DIYMA that was a group buy. The tweeters can be checked at
http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/gen ... -them.html
The sub is a P1222 bought on trinituner. The last picture are the amps and accessories. What is not shown is the MS-8 and 4 gauge wire from a previous install that was in my lancer. The wire in the picture are 8 gauge to install the amps. The last time I posted on this, I did not have the vehicle to put it in. Now I have a 2015 Sportage.
If the install is done, I will not change the deck since I like the Bluetooth, USB and steering wheel controls. The install has to look totally stock and keep cargo space. The problems I am seeing so far are :
The tweeter is about 2.5 inches and I am not seeing where it can be installed. The sub is too big so I might have to switch to a 10 inch that can fit is the stock sub position. I still have to get mid bass drivers. The amps have never been powered so I don't know if they work and the warranty has long since gone. The sportage uses canbus so I can't go cutting wires all willy nilly. There are 10 air bags to work around

So back to my question...any installs done in sportages so I can figure out what to do? The vehicle must remain stock looking.

I'm planning on doing one, but I'm waiting on subs to arrive.

lets see did my brothers own a few years back
used a audio control LCQ-1 too leads from behind the deck into the lcq-1

used existing wire to power door speakers tapped them from the kick panels the rear doors were easier if i'm not mistaken, fitted tweeters in the door panel where the stock tweeter grills are you should have no problem with that size of tweeter iirc amps at the back sub box in trunk though

There is no space for the tweeters in the doors; they are now in the sail panels. If I could find a used pair of the sails I would fab the pods for the tweeters.

I had put mines on the dash.

Have the illusion of them floating in my truck:
