People have different interpretations of what "best bang for the buck" means.

To me, it means the cheapest drivers I can buy that (1) meet published specs parameter-wise - so I can get a pretty good idea of how they would perform using sims before committing to purchase, (2) don't need more than 300 RMS or so to get really good performance out of them, and (3) don't have box size requirements that will take up all of my trunk space. The JBL and Infinity subs are usually good bang for the buck. So are the cheaper Alpines.

Rockford Fosgate T2 (mentioned above) more than $3500
Image Dynamics IDMAX more than $3000
MMATS Dreadnaut less than $2000
JBL GTO (under 600rms) less than $2000
