No midbass from faital pro 8fe200

Postby platinumstar » November 20th, 2016, 10:39 am

I bought a pair of faital pro 8fe200 mids. they play very good midrange but I get no midbass from them. so I'm wondering if these speakers don't play midbass well or should I change to a different set of speakers

Check your hpf, they play from 80hz up comfortably.

Well, I guess it depends on what you define as midbass :-). Going by the specs, the 8FE200 will be rolling off at around 150 Hz if mounted in a door, though cabin gain may provide a bit of a boost at lower frequencies. To me that's just outside what I'd consider midbass territory. A 0.5 cu.ft. vented box should extend response down to around 75 Hz, but good luck finding space in a door for that :-).

fe200 gives off a good midbass , i have ran them down to 70\80hz

agreed with all of d above

check ur HPF aka low freq cut off point
enclosure type
wrong side connections so that 1 not cancelling d other

also , deck\preamp\crossover\amp freq settings

quality of amp being used , cheaper brands tend to be less full sounding ......

Ok will check that now.

I have them in a Toyota hiace but I have built boxes for the mids so not using them in door panels

additionally, are your doors dampened/deadened? How well are the holes sealed?

Post didn't refresh before I commented... Sounds like a crossover setting is off or something. I too have driven a pair down in the 80s and the respond well.
