Mono input for 80prs issue. Need help

Postby krazykidzkrew » December 20th, 2016, 12:23 am

I recently bought a pioneer 80prs deck. Problem is when I connect a Rca pair to a 2 channel amp it plays. If I connect the same Rca to a monoblock amp (Well using one Rca jack) the signal is very low. As if the deck sensing the mono signal and killing the output. Any suggestions?

Check the settings on the deck, put the subwoofer output to mono. Interchange RCA jacks to determine output on the monoblock side

I interchanged the rcas . I even took the Rca from the front and rear and tried it single to the monoblock. Same issue. I had a x9500bhs before never had the problem. I know the 80prs is a super tuning deck. But apparently it's very sensitive
Cause my bass and mids amps are mono

Use only one connection from the PRS80 to the amp, e.g. the "Left" channel. If you hear nothing, try using the right channel instead.

Tried that. I had the x9500bhs before. Never had this problem. If it persists I'll just sell the deck yes

Try using a Y-connector to connect both the L and R outputs of the 80 PRS into the mono amp's one channel.

It is unusual - and I suspect that it might be the amp, rather than the 80 PRS. to confirm, try just connecting one of its subwoofer outputs to your 2 channel amp. If the amp plays the subwoofer signal, then the problem is not with the 80 PRs.

See both my mid and bass amps are mono. The y connector was also tried. The sub may not be an issue . Cause you can on the deck switch to mono from stereo. The mids amp rcas were tried to a 2 channel and four channel amp and played perfect. Another deck was tried to the mono mids amp and it was playing just the signal was low and was requiring a pre amp. Never had the problem with the x9500.
