2018 lancer build

Postby jusrocky » August 30th, 2018, 2:46 pm

Ok so after seeing all these audio build I decided to try my hand on one. The car is practically brand new and now did the first service so there won’t be much modification towards getting the warranty void.
Might be a bit boring but still worth a try.

So here goes,
I will be using
Avh- 2440NEX head unit
connect 2 harness for head-unit
Steering wheel module
Reverse camera module
6v to 12 v converter
And USB adapter
4x6” Orion hcca
2 pair nb1’s
Orion xtr 12” sub
Orion 2700.5 amp (5ch amp)
No sound dampening

0 guage XS power wire
Streetwires rca cables
Stinger speed wire

Might do some under kit lights as well
(Depends) on time
So let’s start

1. Why no dampening? there are endless gaping spaces in your door; unless you're not expecting any midbass in your front stage.
2. Great idea using plug n play harnesses, but please don't use those god-awful butt-splice connectors. Take some time and practice your solder/heatshrink skills.
3. Where are you mounting the tweeters? off/on-axis?
4. Any plans for additional processing?
5. Prime and repaint the speaker opening you grinded.

Other than that, good luck with the build. I'm subscribed.

1. As I said the car is brand new and air tight so not going to interfere with the door for damping (probably later on if needed)
2. Change to these connectors instead

3. Tweeters On the doors. You will see later on the in the build.... no rush jus relax and enjoy...
4. No processing right now (money done)
5. That will be done.

Thanks

Use some damping in the area behind the speaker. It will make a big difference. About 7"x7"

There are usually holes at the bottom of the door to let water out as it runs down the glass.... And well all those plastic clips aren't meant to seal of air either... So air can get in and out... Water Can potentially wet the back of the speaker.

There is a shield that sells for the speakers preventing them for getting wet.
I have never met any that got wet though. Humidity may be an issue in there hence car audio speakers having treated cones.

Sufficient midbass from the doors stock.
I have the hushmat to do the doors but crossed at 65hz and sounded good without it so far.

That deck would have sufficient processing for a daily system.

The nb1 I wound get rid off, especially if going with the stock door location, would be extremely bright.

The back dash rattles like a beyotch. Trunk would definitely need dampening, and the driver side rear fender.

I'll post a pic of my rear door tweater placement.

I was thinking that same thing
But when you close the door you does feel a tickle in your ear so that why I say it was air tight

It's the plastic finisher on the backdash.
Bought some foam tape, haven't gotten around to it yet. Just stuck some foam pads the wife had to put between her toes.

Faital pro 6fe200 in the doors, took out the fe100
Wanted something with a 4 ohm impedance and that could keep up with the dd 8's

A small vid with the sub off and then on for a bit.
