its soo refreshing to see ppl using proper firewall cable glands .
wire loom generally breaks down over time with the constant engine heat, you could consider expandable PET braid (aka techflex)

Not saying the loom is better but I have some wires in loom right over my turbo and never had issues. The wires in techflex inside the loom though.

Rainman wrote:1. Why no dampening? there are endless gaping spaces in your door; unless you're not expecting any midbass in your front stage.
2. Great idea using plug n play harnesses, but please don't use those god-awful butt-splice connectors. Take some time and practice your solder/heatshrink skills.
3. Where are you mounting the tweeters? off/on-axis?
4. Any plans for additional processing?
5. Prime and repaint the speaker opening you grinded.

Other than that, good luck with the build. I'm subscribed.

Mid bass from a high efficiency midrange speaker?

Forget what I said earlier. I have stinger roadkill on my front doors.

Was fixing a bad switch, when I took off the door skin I realised there was dampening.

I don't recall doing it though.

I will tune the headunit and amp to get sufficient mid bass and will be good enough

So i now got a chance to read thru this build log.

Why use an 8ohm speaker on an amp designed to run at a 4ohm or 2 ohm load? Also what is the freq bandwidth response of the driver as you are not damping the doors and i doubt it will perform efficiently below 100hz so there will be a dip in the midbass to upper bass freq on the overall response from the system

Had a pair of 6” so jus add a second pair
That’s how I end up with the 8
I did put some damping inside the doors and it’s true I know I will lose out some mid bass under 100hz but this build is not too much on the sq side that’s why I using loudspeaker and not coax and no processing

But other than that what you think about it so far
