I have a really good pair of front speakers for my home system, Mission 751s, so I haven't had the impetus to build my own. Every now and then I think about redesigning the x-over, then convince myself that it's not really worth it. The surround speakers are an old pair of Mordaunt Short MS3.1s with new tweeters and redesigned x-overs (they originally came with a simple 1/st order x-over that was somewhat inadequate for taming their response). Sub is a 21 Hz design I put together ages ago. Amp is a Yamaha RX-673 that sounds fine.
I actually do most of my listening these days at home on my PC, as SWMBO has monopolized the living room to look at TV and Netflix movies. Modified Logitech mm system with a DIY sub (the "Boom Unit", design covered on my website). reaches down to 32 Hz.
