For an alternative, look for "Starboard" at shop that deals with boat repairs, etc.

Expensive, no glue will hold on it, but you can get it in various thicknesses.

I'm about to use a piece to redo the wooden speaker adapters I have in my car. Let's just say that, even with a few coats of paint, they have not fared very well...

carpenters edge sells them
not that expensive

what thickness do u need, i have a end end of 1/2 inch not in use

I believe the HDPE stuff is what cutting boards are made from, that is costly and not what they using to make the risers

u kinda right. there's varying grades of hdpe, from soft and pliable to hard. the softer types can be easily bent/curved into shapes and the shape tends to keep if it's done right. all rather durable and kinda lightweight, but one downside is that depending on the grade you get it can be damn near impossible to join without the correct solvent and heat. the thinner pliable ones some ppl used to use to make things like sign boards, poster backings etc.
I was looking for a couple 1/16" sheets myself recently but I didn't find any anywhere. wanted to use it to build a curved enclosure for some mids speakers and tweeters.

OP if u find it post where u get it plz.
