advice on sound deadening purchase

Postby altec » June 5th, 2019, 8:19 am

Time is getting near to install speakers in my doors. actually the next two back to back holidays is when I want to do it. The last time I did an install, it could have been 10 years ago and it was strictly sq, with some competition level equipment (entered one IASCA competition to see how I stacked up and came in sixth).

This time the goal is is still sq but at a smaller budget. The speakers are alpine s series comps and coax. I need to buy damping sheets for the doors and door cards. I am watching the buzzmat as a budget friendly option but I do not know how well it performs at its price point. What are some alternatives I can use and who sells it here? I am watching Noico 80 Mil sound deadening sheets that are becoming highly regarded and downright cheap, but shipping it in is a killer: approx $600.00 TTD using tropical express.

Came here to recommend the Noico but I see you already know about it. Carry on.

The company does not deliver Noico to some places
I am using buzzmat and that worked well with no issue and the price was pretty good

Most likely u bought that
Jus probably a larger amt
It's on par with the buzzmat
Both are 80 mil thick
With the buzzmat selling for 100 a sheet shipping in Noico doesn't seem feasible anymore as it's almost the same price per sq
I don't have any more buzzmat or I could have compared weight and actual thickness

I started off with some baffles as I needed protection with some open speakers in the door. Do these act as good deadening items or would additional deadening be required?
