Time Attack Revived For 2018!
In 2016, the genre of motorsport known as Time Attack gained immense popularity among drivers of all-round tuned streetcars in the SSIRS 2016. For 2018, Time Attack is making a return under the TTASA umbrella as part of their local circuit racing events. This season, 7 events are slated with drivers allowed to drop two to remain eligible for the Time Attack Championship, which is open to tuned streetcars in four Groups (as per TTASA-developed SSIRS classing of 2016). More details are outlined in the rules below.

RULES: TTASA TIME ATTACK 2018 CHAMPIONSHIP

Section A: Vehicles must be in good road worthy condition
1. Brakes, Suspension, Engine and Chassis in proper working condition.
2. OEM seatbelts and and OEM seats are allowed once they are in good working condition. A 4-point harness is a recommendation.
3. Correct number of wheel nuts must be used.
4. Tyres allowed are to be no lower than 100 TW and must not be defective in any way.
5. Battery must be properly clamped.
6. Roll cages are recommended but not mandatory.
7. A Helmet that meets TTASA's Standards is Mandatory.
8. Driver Attire: a long sleeved Nomex or Denim Jacket and jeans are allowed with closed toe shoes. NO Open Toe shoes and short pants allowed. A fire-retardant racing suit with shoes, gloves and balaclava is recommended but not mandatory.
9. A properly measured/fitting HANS device is highly recommended but not mandatory.
10. A bolted-in Class ABC Fire Extinguisher of at least 2.5 lbs in weight and easily reached from the drivers position is Mandatory.

Section B: Classing
1. Groups 1 to 4 will be allowed according to TTASA local classification rules except the tyre rules and rules that apply only to properly built race cars.
2. This Championship will be open to street-tuned cars.

Section C: Competition
1. There will be two Running Groups, a fast group (consisting of Group 3 and 4 cars) and a Slow Group (Consisting of Group 1 and 2 cars). Each Running Group will be allowed onto the track for 8-minute sessions and consist of no more than 6 cars at a time. Cars can proceed onto the track and exit as they please within that 8-minute window. Each competitor will be allowed two 8-minute sessions on Competition Days. Each competitors best individual lap time will be used to determine a winner in each of the 4 classes.

2. Time Attack Competition will be held at all 7 of TTASA's planned Local Circuit Racing Events. There will be a TTASA Time Attack Championship for 2018 in which drivers will be awarded points at each event as per TTASA Local Circuit Racing Drivers Points System. Drivers will be allowed to drop 2 of the 7 events for total points.
