Postby tte » November 30th, 2018, 2:18 pm

While we on this, any body know the specs for the rotor for the 2014 hilux. I have changed 3 or 4 set in the past for years, while the vehicle was under warranty.

Toyota would skim first, then change, skim, change, this went on for four years. Cant afford this now.

I want to change them, but, since the original at Toyota is not good quality, It does not make sense to put back original.

Some say the Tacoma ones does work, but which one of the Tacoma ones that does work.

If anybody knows, let me know.

You can get the DBA at westbourne trading in aranguez with hawk pads.
Price is around 4800 with the pads.

They guy with stoptech getting back stock mid january.
1500ish

But oem rotors are crap and always will warp
So spend the extra and get some good aftermarket.

DBA replicas i can link for 2k.

3.0 or 2.5?

The 3.0 carries a bigger rotor and caliper than the 2.5.

I cant say for sure

But if its 319-320mm
With 6x139.7 PCD it should

Measure the hat on the OE rotors and add 28mm for the rotor thickness

That should be enough info to verify fitment

I actually have a 3.0L which oddly enough carries the smaller rotor. I have also changes rotors 3 times in 5 years. Last set I used was daishin cross drilled and slotted, which warped just as fast..... I'm thinking about swapping out the rotors and calipers to the larger ones.... Not sure if that will make a difference.

Drilled rotors is a no no. Slotted and plain. Drilled more susceptible to cracking under heat stress as metal from the rotor is already removed due to drilling.
