what issues should i be looking for in an Altezza this series? is the 3S engine the same as the BEAMS (SP) engine? what engine issues exist?...

No Guru here but....

watch the condition of the igntion components, the tranny syncros should be thoroughly run through, and the clutch should not have any slippage issues.

Anybody want to add???

The 3s-ge and BEAMS 3s-ge are NOT the same engine btw.

BEAMS 3SGE makes 207 bhp (154 kW, 210 PS) @ 7600 rpm. it's referred to as the 4th Gen 3S and comes dual VVTi

....4th gen 3s-ge that is....there is a 4th gen 3s-gte as well (just clarifying)

And I believe the IS300 6 cylinder version makes 220bhp.

it like a honda engine, it have no torque, lol

but the torque is what seperates them, the 6 lazy
