Good day tuners
Question:
Concerning aftermarket rims and tyres for pick-ups, do you (personally) consider load ratings?
...and generally speaking, do you know of or think there are tyre shops that are qualified/certified to advise consumers on load ratings for 4x4 vehicles, pickups, etc.?...
I was doing some research and i found out that if you put a different set of wheels on your vehicle other than what is stock, if the overall diameter does not change it's fine...however in some countries it is illegal to change wheels to anything too far away from stock, so much so that if you are in an accident and your wheels are not load rated to suit your vehicle the insurance company can void your policy leaving you to deal with the rest...
I am in the process of acquiring a 4x2 hilux and was considering changing the stock wheels to something decent; in researching the bolt pattern, centre bore diameter and lugnut size etc. i came across this load ratings thing and the kinda wheels i see men running on their 4x4's i doubt they studying that
I just wanted to here a local opinion, thought this forum might be a good start.
