Based on my research at time of my purchase (2013) it appeared that parts for the 1.8 fielder were harder to get and were much more expensive (AT THE TIME)

But the 1.8 gets even better mileage and as about 40% more HP

Can't really speak for now

I bought a 1.5 2wd
Seems to be the easiest to service.

hey I just recently bought a 2010 fielder, car is immaculate however ive been wondering about this cvt transmission thing. the car drives smooth but ive noticed when slowing and coming to a stop the tranny feels weird like its bucking ever so slightly to go into first gear. is this a common feeling from the cvts?

Is it normal to hear a slight whining noise (almost like an electric motor) when accelerating past 2500 RPM on a 07 Fielder? It also happens when slowing down, especially when in sport mode.

Hmm, that could actually be the alternator's magnetic field.

No that's the transmission.
CVTs usually make noises like that. Nothing to worry about.

It's Toyota based - so I'm jumping in - I have a Toyota Voxy - 8 seater vehicle with the engine 3ZR-FAE.

1. Can anyone say what Toyota parts can be used here - from the Rav4, Axio etc ?

2. Where can I get the CVT transmission filter to buy ?

So I bought Toyota CVT TC fluid, but it came in a black plastic gallon instead of the usual metal tin. After getting the fluid and filter changed, the car started jerking violently and the transmission started to slip and make all kinda noise. There is also a delay between changing gears from reverse to drive etc, and it slams into gear. The car worked fine before the oil change and I was present to see the procedure being carried out, everything seemed to be done to spec. The jerkiness happens mostly from a complete stop, but it randomly seems to slip. The car is pretty much undrivable.

Any suggestions?

How much fluid did it take to refill?

Mechanic used 6 liters. I realized that it works normal when the fluid is cold but after a couple minutes of driving it starts to slip and lurch violently.

I've been looking for the flare kit myself, but I don't think the roof rails will attach if the car didn't come with it.
