As a comparison, ATSS in St. James (628-2886) is $275 + fluid ($60 per litre).

No it's a U.S. brand called PEAK and it's endorsed by NASCAR. I think we're paying plenty extra just for Toyota's name on the gallon container. I have an unopened gallon of Toyota's CVT-TC fluid if you want it for $450.

Winston in La Romain, but he charges a whopping $850 in labour for a gravity drain and refill: too pricey in my opinion.

I dont understand, how much would the original toyota fluid cost for a change as opposed to a new/rebuilt tranny?
why risk with cheap fluid?

Point. There are soo many fielders/axios on the road now, anyone's knows of anyone who had any problems with their transmission??

I've only heard from people who knew someone who knew someone who knew someone that had a problem with their's. The place I took mine to change the fluid had one that was there for repair though. They said it had a problem called flaring, where the belt slips between the pullies. I suspect the owner or the previous owner put the wrong fluid in it as usual.

Yep my friend's fielder needed to replace transmission after 6 years of REALLY HARD driving.
Seriously guy drives really hard...
6 years under his foot is like 60 years load from mine.

I change my cvt oil by Jai Ragbir, Aranguez.

He fixes a lot of transmissions, incl cvt. If you go there you will likely get the opportunity to see the inside of a cvt transmission.

He said the fielder cvt has a problem with a rubber seal eventually getting damaged.
He could not get the original part but he has had a solution machined by someone.

I noticed chaguanas auto supplies has a big led billboard advertising fielder/axio cvt rebuilds for $6500, incl pickup of the transmission.

Good day folks, is there still this transmission issue with the newer 2014 an upwards toyota fielders, where the transmission needs a cooler or having issues?

What's the best engine oil to use in the 2006 NZE-124 Feilder ? I using Kendell now but someone told me that does build up sludge and I might have to change the engine cause it will burn oil faster. I need some expert advise.

Hey Folks,
I'm just about due to change transmission oil on my 2010 Fielder and was wondering if anyone changed theirs recently?
Any updates on what people charging nowadays and where is selling the CVT Tranny oil, filter and gasket?
The last change I did was April 2016 which cost $1550 for everything. Since then I drove approx 30000kms so wanna do a change although I heard others change theirs after 50000kms.

so here is my take on the external cooler
being a mitsubishi man and having maintained 3 CS3 Lancers (All singapore roro 1.6L model with teh F1C1A cvt tranny) I have installed a cooler on 1 for all the reasons mentioned above and left the other 2 stock

the one with the cooler was installed soon after getting it, it was subsequently sold and 2 years after the new owner calls me and tells me that the tranny failed, now this can be for any reason, maybe he never changed the oil on time? since I did not have it, I can only speculate

however, the 2 that were left stock are still working fine, never had an issue. one is doing +300,000 km and the other +200,000km
these 2 get oil changes at 20,000km intervals with the Mitsu specified SPIII tranny fluid, I believe that the firm does it at 40,000km

getting a fielder hybrid soon and interested in doing the same external cooler, it cant hurt, only help. but the question remains, do i install in series with the stock, or eliminate the stock all together.

there are pros and cons. on the lancers, the stock cooler was in the usual place, under the radiator, which would still facilitates cooling when in standstill traffic, however if it was bypassed, then the external would not provide proper cooling when stand still unless there is a fan installed on it.
when moving and a steady stream of air is hitting the external cooler, it would cool way better than the stock

If you want to eliminate the OE cooler, there are externals coolers which come fitted. Some even come thermostat equipped to turn on the fan at a certain temp.

Fielder Hybrid uses the eCVT found in the Aqua.
Not the same type of transmission.
