Hello all. I have a 2002 Toyota corolla fielder and having an issue with noise . when i turn on the ac it is extremely noisy and sounds sort of like a rattling. when i accelerate i hear something like a winding noise that increases the more i step on the gas but i do realise that there is a bit of hesitation and a rougher idle. Other than that the AC still works perfectly and is quite cold. I think it may be the drive belt that needs changing but am curious to hear if anyone else has had this problem with any nze 121. i think it may be a failing clutch but the ac is still blowing cold so not sure what it is exactly. would like a few suggestions before i start to spend money
Lots of time it could be the front bearing of the compressor. Too, there are instances where the bearing is OK, but the shaft gets worn where the bearing inner race fits. While a bearing can be renewed, with a worn shaft the compressor has to be replaced. In both instances, the seal itself is ok, so the compressor, noisy as it is, works. Peace. RR.
