Toyota pulls a Juke on dem.........after Honda !

Postby ramishrrr » February 21st, 2017, 3:38 pm

Years ago, when Nissan introduced the Juke, almost everybody skinned up their faces and bawled "Oh gorsh, dat ting ugly !". Right now, the Juke will be on its' second model soon. The Hybrid is on the drawing board too.
For those who never drove a Juke, worse yet, owned one, this is an excellent vehicle, for your information. The HR15 engine coupled with X-Tronic CVT makes it a very responsive vehicle. The handling and suspension also echoes the responsiveness.
So good is the Juke that Honda tried something with the H-RV (JDM Vezel). Now Toyota brings out the C-HR, even in a Hybrid model too like Honda.
Take a good look and argue with me that Nissan didn't have it right the first time nah !!
The cosmetics obviously would be different, but the concept is loud and clear !
Included is the photo of the original Honda H-RV.
Peace.

You DO know the HRV has been in production (first model) since 1998 right? And the Juke was only first produced in 2010?

I know that fully well. (You forget that I posted the photos above in the opening article. Wikipedia tell you that. )
The point is that the 2010 Juke does not resemble the 1998 HRV in any way.
But the 2014 HRV/Vezel and now the 2017 Toyota CHR both take styling cues from the popular Juke.
( Check where the rear door handle is on both the Juke and the HRV)
Peace.
