Toyota altis 3zz

Postby Jullieboss » November 3rd, 2017, 7:52 pm

Have a Toyota altis with a 3zz engine. When starting the car engine idles for about two seconds and cuts off. Mass air flow sensor has been changed. And car doesn’t have any killswitch installed.
Can I get some suggestions to what can be the cause?

Check ur fuel delivery system, the fuel pump, ensure its pushing adequate pressure and also make sure the injectors are clean.

Thanks will do. Is there something called a gas flow sensor behind the back seat?

Never heard of that, what i know for sure that is under the back seat is the fuel pump, which is actually inside the fuel tank but accesible from under the seat.

What i have seen happened already also is that the fuse for the pump was blown, so u can check ur fuses. Or u can run direct power to the pump and see if the pump pushes the fuel or if the car starts. There are 3 fuse panels in that car, check all.

Changed the fuel pump and clean the filter and haven’t any problems with cutting off so far.
