battery issues in 121 fielder

Postby cueball1990 » December 11th, 2017, 1:05 pm

hey guys some time last week my car battery drained.
my alarm and lights were still working but it wasn't charged enough to start the car so had to get a jump start. when i got home i charged the battery over night.
managed to go to an electrician and he checked my alternator and changed the brushes as they were low so i assumed this may have been the cause and had no issues for about 10 days until yesterday when it seems like it drained again

i did drive the car the day before so im not sure what could be the issue. i charged the battery last night and the car started normal.
anyone could offer some insight or direct me to somewhere i can get the battery and alternator checked properly?

the battery in the car is an eveready battery i bought in pricesmart . cant remember how long ago i bought it though

I suspect it's the battery itself. These new model batteries give little if any warning when they are about to go. I got a nice rocket battery for 675 with 18 months warranty earlier this year for my 121.

Ok thanks guys will change the battery and see. If it persists I guess the next reasonable step is to change the alternator

went by another electrician and he checked the alternator. apparently it was undercharging so probably the voltage regulator was going bad. bought a foreign used on and swapped it. hopefully this solves the problem

sorry for the very late reply. the issue ended up being the battery changing the alternator stopped the light flickering issue also
