While the Hilux has a standard ODB II plug under the steering wheel the pin-outs are not your standard ODB II pins. Consequently a standard OEB II Cable will not work. I had to buy a Mini VCI cable from Amazon and install the Techstream Software. The software will not run on Win 10 or any 64 bit Operating System, so I used Virtual Box to install a 32 bit version of Windows, since my computer and software are 64 bit. The Mini VCI cable came with the Techstream Software. I plug the cable into a USB port om the Computer and the other end to the Hilux and start the Software. The Software communicates with the Cable then automatically selects the model of my Hilux and the year. I can check lots of stuff with the Software.
