Toyota Fielder 2007 AC Problem

Hi Good Evening Toyota Tuners.

Posting on behalf of my neighbour.

He's experiencing some issues with his AC in his Toyota Fielder 2007 model.
It isn't coming on at all and would like some advice here.

He's been to an AC repair technician and was told the compressor needs changing.
Do you know where he can source one at a relatively good price as he found some costing from $4k and up.
OR where he can get a good second opinion.

is it blowing air still? do you hear the compressor coming on? did he check for blown fuses? need more information
