Guys, since I got my CY I have been using the original Mitsu oil filter.

However due to circumstances beyond his control my supplier cannot get them in till June.
I'm due for a service all now.

Do u all have any numbers for the Fram / Purolator oil filters I can use? I have the 2.0l CY4A model.
Thanks.

Do not use that fram sheit.
Ausco has the Bosch.

Ditto on the Fram.

Apart from Bosch, you also have K&N (HP-1010). Both Tune Up Shop and Teknet have it.

Teknet also has the OEM Mitsu filter.

Would even take Purolator (L14610) over Fram.

Nearly 10 years late to this party, but what turned out to be the problem here? This happening to me with my 2014 CY1

3 questions, whats the going price for a used engine and trans for a CY lancer? i saw them flooding the market recently, i know axles and stuff for the local models are pretty pricey but they really look good. i drove a few already and they are pretty decent for what they are.

should someone look for a foreign used model aka galant fortis or a local CY?

In the foreign used market engine wise you would get the 2.0 and 1.8 mostly out of Japan. 1.5 and 1.6 would be mainly from scrapped locally sold units.

Guys, I recently got a local 2014 CY4A 4b11 lancer. Last owner serviced in the firm and the invoices states they were using Amsoil 5w40 OE.

I'm not getting this body oil in Amsoil OE in the parts place near me but in Amsoil European. Would you guys recommend using this instead?

0w40 doesn’t sound right.

Did you get the owner’s manual with the car? That should show the oil type to use. Typically it should be 10w30 (or even 5w30).

Interesting. From that graph it looks like the best oil for it is 15w-30 or 15w40, or even 20w-30 or 20w-40, since we never get to below freezing temps in T&T, but typically see temps in the 30 - 40 degree Celsius range.

I sold my CY in 2015 and just popped in here for ole times sake. :)

Wonder if the current owner in here? The person I sold it to messaged me about 2 years later saying he sold it as well and I looked up the details on the Licensing database and realized the car now has a 2.0l engine up from the factory 1.5l.

Still miss certain things such as the factory HIDs (current ride is halogens) and pretty good gas economy.

I drop in from time to time as well Dizzy. How were you able to retrieve the details when 1 of the 3 search criteria has engine number?

Anyone could say what is the high beam bulb type on the CY (2008+) Lancers which come with the HID headlight assembly?

I believe the HID projectors are D2S, but the high beam bulb is separated from it, so should be able to change easily.

Also, anyone knows what bulb type is the AFS bulb?

EDIT: OK scrap the above. Just double checked and the low and high beams are both the HID bulb. The separate bulb in the housing is for the AFS. So anyone know what bulb type the AFS is, and if it can be removed?

Is it wise to even try, as I checked the back of the headlight assembly and the amount of connectors and wiring I saw (I assume for the HID control module) is nothing like changing your typical halogen bulb. Which connector is the one for the AFS bulb in the 2nd pic below?

Any one re aim their stock hid headlights.
The service manual says it has adjustments for both vertical and horizontal
I found the vertical one but cannot find the horizontal one.
Any help please.
The manual also says the car should be 3 metres from a wall .
