Glad to know I can eliminate the road noise by changing the Tyres.
Thanks for the feedback.

For the 1.5 the radiator fan has two speeds , low and high.
When the ac is on (for my vehicle) as the compressor cycles , the fan switches from low to high or vice versa.

Last week I did some maintenance on my CY :
Engine coolant replaced, easy DIY lengthy and messy procedure.

1 Drain old coolant from radiator and reattach cork.
The drain cork can be accessed by removing right fog light grill.

2 Remove and drain /wash coolant reserve bottle. Attach back on car.
Inspect all hoses and radiator cap.

3 Fill radiator with tap water and attach cap , switch off ac, set temp. control to max heat and run blower at max speed. Drive at moderate speed for half an hour.

4 Repeat steps 1 and 3 (for me about 3 times) until drained water is almost clear or clear. Make sure engine is cool for these steps.

5 Then drain radiator and bottle again. Then full radiator with coolant , run engine and top up if needed. Also check for leaks at drain plug , hoses etc.

6 As car is being used during the week , check radiator level and top up if needed.
The coolant I used is Prestone which is a 50/50 mix.

I also had the transmission fluid replaced since it had a pink / light brown color.
This was done with the aid of a machine. It took 8 quarts and the guy added a QMI
treatment. The fluid used was valvoline max life SP3 full synthetic.
Total cost for this tranny fluid replacement wrt labor and materials was $700.00.

Now I know men will kill me for this part : All of this was done first time at 120,000 km.

Next DIY project is to replace plugs, filter , belt and TB clean out.

Pink/light brown transmission fluid? Is that for the CY2A or the CY4A?

Ok - just found it strange since the oem trans fluid in the CY4A is greenish in colour.

I changed my trans fluid and filter over the weekend and took some pics. Will do a small write up for those who might want to try a DIY on their CY4A.

Good Day All,

Looking for OEM projector headlights.

After market replacements cause an AFS error (turning light only works for a minute after starting)

So the price of front disc pads is $1000 plus vat.

Didn't get the part # though.

Dollar Savers in the bamboo had replacement KYB Excel-G front and rear shocks for the CY4A Lancers (part # 339117/8 front, # 341455 rears).

I bought those 2 years ago, and they are a pretty decent replacement for the OEM shock. The rears were $415 each (obviously would probably be more now). And they were original KYBs (they are the local authorised distributors).

Just make sure you don't buy the cheap JapKYB imitiations.

Guys off topic a bit which is the recommended shell engine oil for these cars? I recently purchased one it's a 1.8 galant sportback. BTW reason I'm asking for shell is just my preference as I had good experiences with my old lancers.

Thanks guys, anyway I driving home tonight only to realize one of my HID bulbs in a projector headlight out. Does anyone know how to go about changing the bulb? Was doing some research and it seems as tho the headlight must be removed to change a Bulb, Is this in fact correct?

The firm usually use total oil. Check the fuse for the headlight before you change the bulb. And if it comes to that there's a cap to turn at the back of the headlight and it'll come off. Then you have access to the bulb.

Thank you not to be a pest but my car is an import from japan so even the manual is impossible to read for me, by chance do you know the body of oil?
I also removed the cap but the bulb does not seem to be accessible from that angle I can see the ballast but that's it. I gonna have the removal a try. Thanks again homie
