out of curiosity, where are you based? where did you source the engine?
did you document this process? very interested.

I am based in Egypt, and I got it from a Crashed(rear ended) US Spec. car. Still working out some glitches with the wiring. Would really appreciate some info on where to get the engine wiring diagram, Thanks again. Will let you know how its going.

Figures. Dont think anyone in the region here would find this swap remotely cost effective at all.

On your request, I believe that not many people have explored the schematics in a serious way yet. This engine/chassis/model was launched worldwide AUG/SEPT 2007. it doesnt mean to say, however, that some buffs have already done some tinkering. check more Mitsubishi-specific user forums both in Japan and the USA as there are more 4b11 models there anyways. I would see some issues both from a tranny and engine perspective especially if you are moving from the 4 speed auto to the CVT with tiptronic (maybe even paddle shifts).

all in all, sounds challenging, but with enuff patience and bad-mind (and lots of $$$), you should be able to pull this off.

i may be forward in saying this, but i really dont think anyone one this forum can answer you directly. we may just be able to point you in the right direction.

good luck

Time to bring this thread back to life. Im currently in the process of doing the 4A91 to 4B11 swap. Half cut Fortis from Japan. We basically transferred everything from the half engine bay to my car. Straight bolt up. Exhaust piping had to be removed as its larger for the 4B11. However the ECU appeared to be bricked. Sourced an ECU and harness from a local crashed GT. Currently wiring back up. With all the minor setbacks, the guys at the garage have been top notch in their work. REALLY couldn't do it without their efforts. Will keep you guys posted.

Quick question. Am in need of a replacement 4A91 engine. Any recommendations for local sources?
