BIG 4g92 problem....HELP PLZ!

Postby mad-za » July 11th, 2012, 11:42 pm

hey guys..i ahve a ck4...4g92 local ..so recently this jus started to happen....wen i pull off from 1st (in *D*)...right before the gear changes into 2nd(around 2500-3000rpm) the car dies down..the check light comes on and wen i come to a stop..only 2 cylinders remain firing..i went under the hood with the car idling and pulled out the coil pack wire (left)..the car didn't shut down...(but the plug wires were still throwing spark :s) then pulled out the right and it cut off.....funny thing is wen i turn the key *off* and start it back..it idles normal until i start to drive again...it only happens wen the rpm hits around 2500 in 1st and 2nd gear....what i did was...change ..coil pack..spark plugs...tried 3 different brain....changed tranny brain...and the problem is still there..i doh kno wat to do anymore!..the car revs all into 7000 in neutral and park..but with the car driving cant go pass 3000 rpm..:(

get the car scanned if it can.

most likely could be an issue between the transmission ecu/ wiring/ sensor and the engine harness...

Could be electrical related (Alternator/Grounding) Had a similar but different problem with my 4g18 engine a few months ago. Car would struggle to go past 2-3 RPM. Later found the culprit which was the alternator charge wire. Best bet is to get the car scanned.

had similar problems to this more than once in the past, does you car carry an air flow sensor? also did you service the throttle body? on two separate occasions these were the culprits for the same problem your having....but it was with the 4g15 and 4g18 engine....so its worth a shot.....

dunno if the scanner will pick it up but check your fuel pump/ fuel supply

i have a feeling that when the car calls for fuel at 3k rpm the fuel system is incapable

just my 2c

the scan must have a code number in addition to cylinder 1 and 4 or so:try and get that code and give to us.

seems like your car is in a limp home mode
you will have to trouble shoot your sensors
if 1 and 4 appeared in a scan then it could be your cam sensor
because 1 and 4 most likely means a misfire in said cylinders
and your cam sensor is responsible for telling your car which cylinder is at TDC
try it let me know if yuh get through
