So I did some thinking. I know where I want to be at the end of the project, so, what are my options in reaching there.

Option 1, spend 15000$ on an engine, install, remove and rebuild. Cost will be from 15000$ plus rebuild or

Option 2, start from scratch and build everything from ground zero. Cost will be from 0$ upwards.

So, I started to look for parts, discovered that this was in the junkpile of my uncle garage

It is from a Sirus turbo engine, SOHC.
He had the crank, pistons, main bearing caps and rods.

^ ^ ^ Yup, there is a running "Script" that has not been sorted out, that's slowing down the site for months.

BTW what's your performance goals? (bhp / torque / 0-60 mph / top end / mileage?)

... and the Sirius block. Is it a G62B or G63B?

It is a 4g63 block.

Looking for 4 to 500hp at the end. Will progressively reach that point. 1/4M high 10s to low 12s.

Project was ment to be a hobby to relax my mind and have some fun. Will have more fun doing the project than driving it.

^ ^ ^ That's a hell of a lot of output... and will cost a BUNDLE too!
IIRC very few of the best DOHC 4G EX's on UK's MLR Forum reach anywhere near 500 bhp. Good luck.

My goals for "GroceryGetter" are a lot lower (stock, 1.8L 4G93T = 205 bhp).
CHEAPER too, even after a complete rebuild ("new" and "blue-printed" almost everything.)
Still I don't think it will be all that slow. IIRC the 2.0L "YB" Escort Cosworth Turbo only had 204 bhp in '86
The most important thing is to get as close to 40 mpg as possible... and then add a CNG kit!

Where I expect to be ultra competitive is in "ride quality", brakes, steering and especially "handling." 8-)

My $0.02¢

Think it is a bit ambitious?

Might be, first project that I am doing. I’ll just have to look and see.

When I clean up the block, if it can take a set of rings, I'll build it that way and then start to buy parts for the rebuild. If the block have to cut, well, I'll go forge from there.

So nothing much has happened

Did bought these, it is the S15 rotors, caliper and spindle. Currently looking for the coil over for the set, the one with both type of adjustments.

Bought this about a year ago for mechanical parts, wife say it blocking up the back of the house, will get rid of it sometime next year.
