but it will cost a bundle to do properly... Front & Rear "halfs", plus new replacement parts
(suspension, bushings & mounts, engine overhaul kit & other parts... and on... and on)... Scary... & EXPENSIVE!
If you try to do it "on the cheap" (like so many others) you'll end up with an UNRELIABLE car or a FAILED project.
IMHO I would recommend selling your car and buying a decent Evo 6 but that's almost impossible to find today.
The alternative is to save for a couple more YEARS...then buy a newer Evo 8.
Less "looks" than the E6... but similar performance and handling... and body parts are more readily available.
Sanctifier wrote:Upgrade the BRAKES (Brembo - Evo 5-9)... SUSPENSION (Ft=1800 GSR/Evo 4)... and RIMS & TYRES first...
Add 4G93T engine (rare but sometimes available)...
'PM' Mishi for suitable fwd (Mivec?) gearbox.
OR check eBay - Japan (http://www.ebay.com/sch/Japan-/3492/i.html) for 4G93T and gearbox.
This is VERY bad advice. It's a great way to pay a BIG FINE and then... lose ALL your $$$$.Best bet is to scrap your car for parts and buy a evolution shell... Hope no license officers stop you.

If your "buget" is an issue, then use your CK4 and stay with fwd.Sanctifier wrote:Upgrade the BRAKES (Brembo - Evo 5-9)... SUSPENSION (Ft=1800 GSR/Evo 4)... and RIMS & TYRES first...

FWD gearbox on a 4G63T... IMHO I would NOT do a 4G63T FWD conversion... EVER!rylan1996 wrote:Thanks Sanctifier for the response man, I think staying FWD and doing what you have above is the most practical for me in terms of my budget... it was mentioned that you could use a FWD gearbox on a 4G63T? Is it practical and reliable?
IIRC (long time ago ) the CM2A is similar to the 4wd CM5A 1800 GSR chassis.kjaglal76v2 wrote:would the cm2a rear floor pan need to be adjusted for the cn9a swap?...
or wud d cn9a rear suspension fit right in?
Sanctifier wrote:N.B. You MUST use a matching pair of "Transfer Case" and "Rear Diff" (both from the same car) to avoid problems with mismatched gearing and other serious issues. CM5A gearing will work with a 4G93T or even a 4G63T... I don't know about CM2A gearing.
Also, please UPGRADE your brakes!
Even the stock CM5A, 4wd GSR didn't have enough brakes for the 4G93T IMHO... Been there... done that!
If going for a full 4wd swap, use Evo 4 brakes (ft & rr) + E4 Master cylinder.
Better yet... Go Brembos + matching Master cylinder + 17" Evo rims if you can afford it.
