Hey fellas. I'm getting a 6a13tt twin turbo..
But it's a 4wd.
I've read d 6a13tt would line up on my original tranny.
My question before I purchase is:
Can I use it on my tiptronic tranny?

Short answer yes.
Some would say the tranny wouldn't last others no problem, same as torque steer. My experience going wot from a low gear and the car gets a little side happy, tranny only lasted about 6 months before the converter was stripped. Others had it like that for years with no issue.
Age and condition of your present tranny would be a factor apparently.

Additionally of you were using dexron III or similar fluid not up to par with diaqueen spIII before hand most likely that transmission won't last.

So non turbo is the better option?

Not necessarily? What is your intention later?
4wd conversion could be a future upgrade, conversion to 5 hole, wide variety of property racing lightweight rims.

With turbo you'll need to use premium or invest in a water /meth kit so if your pocket weak take that into consideration.

Just want to get far away as possible from my current gdi...
So I'm heading in the direction of a swap.
And I'm reading here the 6a13tt is a good swap.
If it's a good swap. I'll stay there, no further upgrading
Didn't consider the premium part lol..

A Large oil cooler for the tranny is a must. I use a Aircon radiator from a civic to keep things cool. 4WD or 2WD GDI or turbo

That convertor used to strip even when I was running the GDI 1.8 so it's not the engines fault. Design flaw straight from Porsche input shaft just to short. VR4 have it twice as long. Just do not launch the car.

My input on the 4G63, if you can manage to find a single cam 4G63, that's a great swap for you as you just wanna get away from the GDI and nt necessarily after the speed, although the 4G63 does run nice.

It's a great engine that not really high on maintenance. We've had our galant with the 4G63 in it over four years now and never did any major work on it until recently. TBH the oil wasn't even changed that often until i started maintaining it.

But unless u relll lucky it might be hard to get one, last I saw one was in the bamboo for about $4000.00 last year. I think is mostly the local galants came with these engines(I may be wrong)

I'm on the lookout for a cheap after market intake for my galant (4g93GDI).

The predicament is that I did an engine swap a while ago and I hadn't realised that there are actually two slighlty different versions of the same GDI engine. One with the intake a lil higher than the other. I have the old air hose using, which is longer due to the intake positioning. And well with the new engine, you kinda hadda bend the hose up to get everything to fit, which probably starving the engine for air.

Not getting the intake hose I need in the bamboo anywhere. So I think its best I vouch for a cone filter intake or something. Anyone know where I could get one really cheap? Don't need no big performance thing, I just wanna solve the stupid intake hose problem.

fellas I have a little question with respect to blanking the egr...when I'm going it on the 1.8 gdi doing it just put a metal to cover the hole....or there have a bit more to be done?

Just a metal plate /shim in between to block the flow

Why the egr being blanked off?

To keep the intake manifold from gunking, it also keeps the enginr from forming a lot of carbon build up.

Suspected that was the reason. The amount of exhaust gas that passes through the system is minimal. Put an oil catch can to trap fumes from the pcv to ease the woes of carbon buildup on the valves. Deleting egr will cause higher combustion chamber temps and negatively affect fuel economy.

Fellas, I'm thinking of buying another sharkmouth and doing a conversion on it. wanna go manual. I seeing these galants going for cheap now so I might be able to buy one and convert. Question is, what engine swap options wud be a good choice. Ik I can go with the 6A13TT and use back the old tranny, but it's manual I'd be converting to. So what engine and box options wud be a good choice? and what kind of prices the conversions going for?

Anyone happen to have a working fuel pump control module for an 4g63 sohc carburetor engine? Previous owners bypassed it with a relay causing pump to to run 100%. I suspect this is the reason for overly rich mixture and performing poorly when warm.
With that in mind I will still attempt to adjust mixture on carb if possible. Any carburetor gurus can point out the mixture screw for me please? Not sure why they'd have a control module and a mixture screw but I'm no engineer. Thank you.

The mixture screw is on the back of the carburetor it has a flat head screw driver slot in the middle...stretching from the driver side of the car ur right hand would best access it
