What kind of vehicle ? My Navara had an issue where the fuel gauge would go on empty randomly and other times it would work and the same fuel sending unit was changed and it's working now

My work around was to just figure out how much gas you get on a full tank and reset the trip metre everytime i filled up a tank. After I got it fixed I still reset the trip meter as a habit. But hopefully you get to figure it out soon
