Solution for GDI Fuel Pump Issue: P0190 Error

Postby stang » February 22nd, 2017, 1:16 pm

Was having major fuel issues with a GDI Galant (4g94). Car was bucking when changing from 1 to 2 and could not get past 60 Kph. In addition, a little hard start, ok idle, but could not rev past 2500-3000 without missing. The error code was P0190 (fuel rail sensor) and although changed the sensor, the problem still persisted.

Called Ryan (746-8222) and he was able to meet me me at my convenience and cleaned the high pressure fuel pump filter. Process was less then 20 minutes and car is working perfectly. My recommendation is not to change or service the pump, but get the filter cleaned first to see if this resolved the issue.

Also, those who wish to replace their fuel pump, I am willing to take the "defective" pump off your hands. :D
