Postby ace » June 13th, 2017, 9:46 pm

Hey guys I ahve a cs3 lancer and I have been having a lot of trouble withthe tranny going dead on me when i stop to pull off or reversing.

The "N" light keeps blinking when this happens.T
This happened to me before and I changed a tranny then I changed a soleniod in the valve body. Now its happening again we just scanned the car and we got an error code of 027 PRIM PRS S OP.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS MEANS???

ace we all know CVT trannys need that special TLC, the error you have stated "027 PRIM PRS S OP"doesnt seem to be a genuine OBD11 scanner code, OBD II diagnostic trouble codes: are ususally “P0” codes and “P1” codes.
The scanner you are using could be a generic scan tool , I ve seen ppl use these obd bluetooth scanners and still spend "bad money" changing parts due to non OEM codes.

The blinking N indicates that your transmission management system has encountered a malfunction within the transmission. The ecu will basically put the vehicle in to fail safe mode

This could happen for a couple of reasons
1. transmission oil is low, have you checked levels?
2. transmission solenoid needs servicing/replacing and yes the solenoid can burn out again if the right methods werent done the first time
2. transmission oil (CVT SP111) needs to be changed, Happens on prolonged runs or when transmission is put under a load for extensive drive periods. When was last you changed oil?
You may need to flush your system compared to draining it, there's a big difference as the torque converter holds alot of transmission fluid

These topics have been covered in the CS forum numerous times , All the information is there you just need to do a proper search

"CAUTION

IF the "N" (NEUTRAL) indicator lamp in the selector lever position flashes while you are driving there could be a malfunction in the CVT. (If the selector lever position is in the "P" (PARK), "R" (REVERSE) or "N" (NEUTRAL) position, the indicator lamp does not flash.) Identify and rectify the problem in accordance with the following procedure:

[The "N" indicator lamp flashes rapidly (twice per second)]

The automatic transmission (CVT) fluid is overheating."

Park your vehicle in a safe place but do not turn off the engine. Move teh selector lever to the "P" (PARK) position and open the bonnet. Keep the engine idling.

After a while, move the selector lever to the "D" (DRIVE) position, "Ds" (DOWN SHIFT & DRIVE SPORTY) position and confirm that the "N" indicator lamp stops flashing. It is safe to drive the car if the "N" indicator lamp no longer flashes.

Be sure to carry out the check with the all forward position except for "P" (PARK), "R" (REVERSE) or "N" (NEUTRAL). The "N" indicator lamp warning operates only in these positions.

If the "N" indicator lamp continues flashing or flashes intermittently, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.

[The "N" indicator lamp flashes slowly (once per second)]

The CVT safety device may be operating due to a malfunction.
Have your vehicle inspected by an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer as soon as possible."

My 2 cents is have the car scanned by a professional tranny specialist
Transmission Specialist 774222 Smalls, theres also jentons hes good but a little more pricey 675-0248

Both are located in Aranguez, Trinidad
