Subaru Legacy GT Odometer reading

Folks,

A couple days ago I started up my Legacy and left it running to warm up a little before hitting the road. When I got into the car I noticed that the digital odometer reading had switched to read 1LL.5
It did not stay like this for long but after a couple of minutes is displayed the same message. I drove off and at one time it actually displayed 1LL.6 then switche back to 1LL.5 and then back to the original odometer reading.

Any ideas what the heck caused this?
Since that day I havn't seen it.

nope, you probably bounced the knob while turning the key or something

Nope. I am very sure it's not that. It kept going back and forth. Happened the next day as well . I started the car standing up by the door. Since then I have not seen it. Strange ...
