WTK: Legacy BL5 Trunk Jammed?

Postby JLegacy » May 14th, 2012, 4:58 pm

I have a legacy BL5 non turbo and the trunk wont open anymore, when i pull the trunk release, it won't release the lock and the trunk wont open, there used to be a slight tension in the leaver when you pull but now it's just slack, does anyone know another way to open the trunk since there is no keyhole, or can anyone recommend where i can get this fixed?

thanks.

i dont think so cuz the key has two buttons on it and i believe that it was to lock and unlock the car but that dosnt work also i think it needs a battery or something, but i herd there's normally a safety release for the trunk thats inside just incase you kidnapp someone or something lol or someone got trapped in the trunk they can open from the inside but i tried to look through the back seat but i see nothing so i dont know if its somewhere else.

Just checked my BL5 key and it has three buttons, one for trunk.
I didnt know the non-turbo had a different key.

What was the outcome? Where did you have it repaired?

If u are referring to op's problem - what happened is that the cable wasn't able to move as freely and probably snapped at one end or another weak point when excessive force was applied. If the leaver is ur only way to open u may need to make urself small and find ur way in the trunk via removal of backseat back rest.
