WTK - Immobiliser Communication Error - Car wont start

Postby dutch2004 » May 30th, 2012, 9:09 pm

Looking for mechanic or tech who can fix this problem or at least point me in right direction. My last option from a cost standpoint is Neal and Massey because I been warned they will kill me with price....Car is at roro dealer and despite their efforts they haven't made any headway. :(

Vehicle not starting since sat.

Changed battery and installed some music at reputable audio installer. Vehicle tumbling but not starting. House light constantly blinking and hearing a beeping from area inside dash behind the head unit. Hearing a ton of different opinions but I am sure someone knows a Subaru specialist who may be able to fix. Has been put on a error checker computer and the code that coming up is "immobiliser communication error". All the keyless entry locks on doors not activating and naturally the trunk is locked.

The car is impreza 2007 hatch non turbo jdm purchased roro, car is four years old, no mechanical issues.

Has a viper pager alarm also.

Any information or assistance would be appreciated. Please pm me any info you can or make any suggestions.

Would really appreciate some help fellow tuners...real headache as I work in oil and gas and need vehicle for runs to Galeota and point lisas etc...

Any ideas, experience with this?

Dutch.

Happens sometimes.
Many people change the battery with no problem, others have issues. It's usually the car not recognizing the key again. There's a guy in St. Augustine that people say can fix it..Lock Tech services? Or something like that. Someone here will know. But he is still just as expensive as N&M.
I think the best bet is N&M though. If you're in south talk to Sylvester. He's in the service dept and I know he's done a few of these. If you don't speak to someone directly and just carry the vehicle there they may try to sell you a new key also.

Could also be that the other alarm was not installed correctly and is causing an electrical problem. First try removing this and putting back everything to stock, clear the codes, retry. If that doesn't work, then look for a key reprogram.

Try posting this on scoobytnt.com also. People there will know someone.

actually had this same problem with my legacy. turned out that by the driverside kick panel had a black wire that was unjacked, and I had plugged it back in, assuming it came out in error {I had just finished running some wires in that area.} After about half hour of trying to figure out the problem, i unjacked the wire and everything worked fine.

Car is down due to software malfunction and getting a immobilise communication error on computer and car wont start.

Looking for anyone who has Subaru computer/tool who can reprogram car or who knows how to manually reprogram the car.

Car down three weeks and Im going nuts.

Alternatively if i cant repair i may have to look at buying an aftermarket ecu and bypassing the immobiliser

Car is this one at this link. It is roro 2008 and is the jdm model that was never sold in trinidad by massey so has no chip in the key.

Any information would be helpful and would be appreciated.
