Help: Tyres For Subaru Legacy

Postby Fabricius1987 » June 8th, 2012, 9:56 pm

Hey all! I'm currently in the process of researching what tyres to put onto my subaru legacy, but the more sites I visit, the more confused I get. I currently have Yokohama DNA ECOS ES300 - size 205/55R16. Any advice as to what are some great tyres to get and where to purchase, would be much appreciated.

It is a BL5. Out of curiosity - what is the significance?

weird hearing about a LB5 with 16's....except its the non-turbo...

at anyrate whats the function of the car? mostly A -B/family car or theres a bit of "toco/blanci/mayaro blasting" drives in that mix as well?

Yes it is the non-turbo legacy ... and honestly - i'm still reading/learning alot about this car.

I primarily use the car to go from A to B, all the way to Z :) ... mainly high-way useage. Family car as well and some north-coast runs.

My main concern with these tryes are the Wet Traction ratings - very disturbing to learn about what they are actually selling in Trinidad. Trying to be patient in finding a good buy - but it is frustrating.

or...Check the tirerack reviews on the Kumho Solus KH16 and the KR21...abt the same wet and dry with good hydroplaning resistance...makes for a very predictable drive

Mileage Mack usually has these as well

@ BANzai Rastafarai - I got them @ Brantec Ltd Longdenville Main Rd Montrose - $940 per tyre - yes a bit tough on your wallet - but in the end you cant put a price on road/tyre safety.

@ marcus8860 - I met a lot of dealers offering nexen tyres - and after 2 weeks of online researching they just didnt take to my liking - but thanks for your input.

^^ ... well I originally had some Yokohamas that came with the car ... so compared to those, the Kumho does feel different ... the drive does feel a bit harder ... as for road noise - hard to tell when on the highway - then again our roads are terrible!!! But I am satisfied with them =]
