Changes cam sensor, plugs dry getting spark on plugs, seals good, injectors spraying, still not starting but it looks like I killed the battery, it cranked and fired a bit but died off, compression test done, have good compression on all cylinders. Car didn't start, but all the excess gas from cylinder went out through the exhaust

Since I didn't get a chance to fully tune my previous set of turbo related upgrades. I thought it might be a good opportunity to start into other aspects that i wanted to also look into (that with require ROM modification).

I've officially made the decision to convert the car to 100% flex fuel. It will be able to run full ethanol or pump RON95 or anything in between - without having to make any tuning or mechanical adjustments.

So if i need a bit of extra power for whatever reason (track racing etc) i can easily do this without have to flash over maps, drain tanks etc. Setting up a seperate fuel cell wasn't really an option for me. I have a hatch and the car is daily driven.

I'll update with feedback once I get things under way.

Question: what kind of power to expect from stock 440 injectors (baby blue) with a vf22 turbo and water meth?

Kinda a stupid question as there are a lot of details that can influence power output but just looking at a safe zone.

275hp in my estimation. Injectors will be the limiting component.

275hp is good for me. But they would be maxed out?
Might be a good idea to upgrade then?

The turbo from what I knw uses a bigger exhaust housing, which can be counter productive wrt to spool up. I take it that this is stock for the WRX? I would do some further research on this turbo to see if it fits into your setup how u want it to.

440cc is kinda small imo. So yeah it's better to upgrade injectors. During the tune u would knw if they are maxed or not. Actually u can check them now and see what the duty cycle is to gauge the headroom u have.

Bigger injectors would just operate at a lower duty cycle, which is good because u will have room if u have further demands for fueling due to future upgrades.

Bigger injectors would mean bigger fuel pump or can I keep the stock pump?
A set of injectors popped up for sale. Contemplating them but iffy on pushing it power output wise.

Had a look at the injectors when i now got the car. A tuner did it for me. Says if im looking to upgrade ill need bigger injectors

You could get an adjustable fpr you could set it up and run those same injectors just by bumping fuel pressure, Subaru race teams use this method on the rising rate fuel pressure concept on I believe sti injectors and make good power could do this sam for 440's

I can't help but think that those lower intake manifold assemblies are interchangeable with the JDM version that doesnt have the TGVs. It might be easier to just swap them instead of going tru all that work to fill and port etc. I can speak with certainty for the Legacy.

I should be able to source a pair from a Legacy intake manifold. What is the likelihood of these leaking through the butterfly shaft channel? Seeing that the tgv sensor would have to be connected.

People usually plug the holes with aluminium welding.

I havent gotten around to it yet.
It can be diy but just dont have the time right now.
Some drill and tap them, then insert a nut and bolt with something to seal it. Seen jb weld being recommended.
Tgv sensors dont have to be connected. Im cutting them off and securing the wires.

well from what ive seen online 200tq is easy, but im not going for all out power, thats for the legacy. With the forester i tow, go offroad, and carry loads/ppl/pets constantly. The supercharger's benefit is that i get torque from idle all the way through the rev range, rather than waiting for turbo spool. Should be excellent for a daily driver, extremely responsive. Very reliable setup, as this is a fixed displacement supercharger. Cooled with an Air>water intercooler i should have no heatsoak. Tuning should be interesting..

Here is a typical dyno of a m62 on a subaru with 5psi.

Looks good. This is "outside the box thinking" and it would be interesting. Tuning the stock ecu? Or u have an aftermarket?

Why not compound turbo the setup, like run a td04 Wrx turbo and use the super charger to feed the turbo inlet, will still get the amazing spool and a really good top end

Well to add a turbo to the mix is a lot of work, plus its lifted 3 inches with 255/65/16 off road tyres, bars, roof rack etc...so speeding in that thing is nothing short of scary.

Anyone ever tried running dual maps? As in one on ECO mode and on non- ECO mode?

This is for a BP5 legacy.
